Charlie Brown was named after the Peanuts comic strip character, but he's a star in his own right. The original Charlie Brown was sweet, shy and lovable...and seemed to roll with abuse with a shrug and a smile. Our Charlie Brown and his dog friend also dealt with neglect in the last year or so. Their story is that the original owner died, and then Charlie Brown and his dog friend were given to someone who didn't care for the two dogs. Sadly, Charlie Brown and his dog friend roamed freely. When Charlie Brown and his dog friend were hit by a car (he was grazed but she was killed), he guarded her body until a good Samaritan took him away and then called Animal Control. To this day Charlie Brown looks for his friend when he sees other dogs.

Charlie Brown LOVES to be petted and talked to. He's the best "ear" ever! Charlie Brown paws you in great enthusiasm when he realizes you're paying attention to him. What a ham! In addition, Charlie Brown is good around other dogs and cats. He has a sweet, quiet, laid back personality, yet he romps and plays in the yard with his young friend, Travis. Charlie Brown listens to commands and obeys them. He is very clean and housebroken in the home.

We can't say enough about this lovely, smart dog who has won our hearts. Charlie Brown is a dog with an amazing spirit. He has taken life's punches in stride. Charlie Brown will be an easy dog for someone who wants to adopt a dog who will "catch on" quicker than a puppy or unfocused dog. Yes, Charlie Brown is a bit (prematurely) gray around the muzzle, but some of us DAWG volunteers are too and we're pretty perky!
