Today, Cupcake is a happy, normal, highly social "confection" of a cockapoo who had a very close call in her "first life." You see, people get cute puppies and then become disenchanted with them when they need to be trained and given time and attention. Cupcake's prior owner ignored Cupcake to the extent that she almost starved Cupcake to death.

Luckily a Good Samaritan reported her neighbor's abuse. Cupcake was seized by Animal Control and taken as an extreme emergency to the same vet DAWG uses. A DAWG volunteer who was there for another purpose gasped when she saw Cupcake's condition and asked if Cupcake could be transferred to DAWG. Cupcake was stabilized and went home with the volunteer as a foster dog. That was in February, 2009.

Today, Cupcake is just as we have described her above. Because people want to know how a dog "arrived" in our organization, we decided to include horrific pictures from her first day with us, as well as a current video of Cupcake romping with her other foster dog friends. She's funny and a great dog, as much due to her bubbly personality as due to her wonderful foster mom who patiently guided her through her transition.
