Everyone knows how dogs given as Christmas gifts to kids often end up in the shelter. Gracie would have been lucky if that happened to her. Instead, Gracie found herself outside on a tether that was so short that it was hard for her to move. She had no shelter throughout the winter, and food and water were sporatic. Of course, Gracie's social needs were also severely neglected. She'd cry and bark for attention, and we understand the owners responded with "Shut UP!"  How Gracie survived is a miracle.

Luckily, animal control seized Gracie and took her away from those people. We heard about the case through one of our volunteers, who works with animal cruelty cases. We wanted Gracie and have her now. She's a doll!  See for yourself in the video of Gracie and another "humane hold" dog taken at the shelter. Gracie will be at an upcoming show soon!
