Gretchen was a stray at a local shelter. Her perkiness caught the eye of our intake volunteer, who said Gretchen was the cutest dog ever! Well, let’s just say one of the cutest.
Gretchen has a delightful personality, full of unrestrained love and silliness in one turbo dog. Gretchen is also a tiny bit willful, no doubt because she was spoiled rotten by her past human. However, she’s happy to learn. Anything for praise, with kisses in return, of course!
Gretchen likes her small “DAWG dog” friends, so she may be a potential pal for a playful small dog. But Gretchen loves people most of all.
Gretchen is highly stimulated at adoption shows, meaning bright lights, odd noises, and people and dogs swirling around her make her bark at times. She is also wary of feet as they approach, so we think she was stepped on in her past. Gretchen would do better meeting strangers in a calmer environment, but adoption shows are how we introduce our dogs. If you would like to meet her, know that she wants to meet you too, but give her a moment!
I don’t like my winter coat, even if it is pink!
