Yes, our Mona Lisa's mysterious eyes follow you as you walk toward her. However, she's in a full wiggle by the time you arrive!

This petite doll of a dog was supposed to be euthanized the day before we took her from the shelter. A shelter employee couldn't stand it that Mona Lisa's shyness caused her to be passed over by shelter visitors. So she "bought" Mona Lisa one more day, knowing that a DAWG volunteer was en route (to pick up a different dog). It took about an hour for Mona Lisa to warm up to the volunteer. When that happened, Mona Lisa showed her trust by sitting next to the volunteer, and then stared at the volunteer during the drive from the shelter to the veterinarian! Today, Mona Lisa seems aloof or disinterested upon meeting you initially, as if she doesn't understand you are there to meet her. But once you get her attention and she is comfortable with you, she "morphs" into a playful, silly and affectionate "girlfriend" who wants to go home with you!

Mona Lisa has thick, shiny fur that is a blend of smokey gray, toffee, butterscotch and just a touch of cream. We probably should have called her Macchiato! But Mona Lisa will do. Plan on meeting this quiet beauty soon!
