Nina
and her son, Buddy, were spotted by our intake volunteer at the
shelter. Nina was shy and scared compared to Buddy, but we believed she
would unfold once she trusted us. So Nina and Buddy became DAWG dogs!
Initially Nina was nervous at her first
adoption show, but she quickly settled and was inquisitive about
everything. When Buddy saw her, Nina gently asserted herself and showed
him she wasn't buying his jumping all over her, but we know she was glad
to see him. In fact, Nina thoroughly enjoyed herself and all the
attention she received. A party girl in the making!
Nina is a petite dog with gorgeous glossy
black fur...a beauty! You can also tell that she is highly intelligent.
Because Nina has herding instincts, she will not be a good choice for
families with young children. (Herding dog behavior is often
misunderstood when herders apply their natural tendencies toward
children). However, dogs like Nina do very well when their "talents" are
redirected to other activities such as agility. Fun for dog and humans!
