Our pup, Skye,
was diagnosed with parvo, a potentially deadly disease she
contracted at the shelter. We had been aware of Skye and were
horrified to learn she was to be put down immediately...so we
decided to try to save her. A staff member at our animal hospital
rushed to the shelter before it closed that day, and DAWG's
veterinarian stayed late to examine Skye and set up her care plan,
which included constant fluids and medication. Luckily, Skye
responded to treatment and started coming around in a few days. Skye
is truly our miracle dog, healthy now and ready to be adopted!
Skye is one of the
smallest lab mixes we have seen. If you look carefully at the
pictures of her, you will see Skye is only as tall as the knees of
her handler (who is sitting in a low slung chair). Skye is a
peanut! And oh so cute.
Skye is pure puppy joy
and had a blast at her first adoption show. She had just as much fun
with toys in the toy bin as in emptying it! Skye is happy and sweet
and would be a great friend for a small dog as well as for a person
looking for a little buddy.
