So much for the brave and mighty legend of Dobermans! Our new Troy is a big baby. He sobs! He must have been bewildered being in a shelter as a stray. What happened to his family? For sure he has a big heart that was broken.

Note that the pictures on Troy's web page were taken when he arrived at our animal hospital, ill with the typical respiratory ailment most shelter dogs acquire while at the shelter. When Troy was examined, our vet said he had to have entropion eye surgery on his lower eyelids (they eyelids turned inwards). He had the surgery in December, so Troy is sleek, handsome, and ready to go!

The reason we don't have a current "after" picture is that Troy was briefly adopted by a person with a very senior dog. Troy didn't fit into that "settled" lifestyle, as the age difference required that he needed more exercise than the elder dog, and the increased effort was not what the adopter expected or was able to provide. However, something good came out of the adoption. We learned that Troy was a clown and homebody (homedog?), in that on his first night he picked up his new dog bed and dragged it over to the adopter. Aww! And of course Troy should be placed in a home that will "deliver" exercise befitting a three year old dog.

Troy has a gentle demeanor as well as a frisky side, quite the "dude" in a snazzy chestnut suit. Troy is a really spectacular dog, so ask about him soon!
